COFFEE BREAK 173

+ Thanks to the Brussat's Spiritual Literacy Blog, I discovered that HuffingtonPost offers "Bringing Compassion to the Middle East" by Karen Armstrong.

  • Brussat Excerpt: "... Karen Armstrong shares her experience of being in the United Arab Emirates to speak about the Charter for Compassion. She was impressed by the positive response to her efforts to apply the Golden Rule globally."

  • Armstrong excerpt: "The Middle East is, of course, at the center of many of our current political problems and it is obviously not easy for a region, wracked by conflict, to embrace the compassionate ideal. Yet Muslims have been especially active in the promotion of the Charter, none more so, perhaps, than TEDster Badr Jafar, Executive Director at the Crescent Petroleum group of companies, based in the United Arab Emirates."
