IT’S INAUGURATION DAY IN AMERICA!
It is the day we have waited for for a long, long time. Today, the USA will once again have a truly progressive President working with a truly progressive Congress. We sure do need such a government after the long rule of an aristocracy not at all tuned into the needs and hopes of most Americans. This was true even in the 90s when the policies of a truly caring President were blocked most of the time by a defiant, reactionary Congress.
But now “we the people” have finally elected a President and Congress which are responsive to us. This is so IF we put on the pressure, IF we are vigilant and don’t allow our government to fall prey once again to the selfish interests of privileged plutocrats. This is our government IF we work day after day for the programs and policies “we the people” need.
Our new President promises that he will listen, that he will be responsive, that he will be our President. We hope he will not let us down. He will not let us down IF we don’t let him down. We must work with him with high energy, determination and discipline. Being politically active is mandatory now IF we are going to truly renew our country and our planet. YES WE CAN!
