ROOTING FOR OBAMA AND THE RED SOX
Four years ago, October turned out great but November didn't turn out the way I had hoped it would. Four years ago, the Boston Red Sox became the World Champions for the first time in 86 years after a dramatic American League Championship Series against their arch rivals, the New York Yankees. In that series, the Red Sox became the first baseball team to win a best-of-seven series after losing the first 3. Then the Sox swept the Cardinals and the long, long wait for a World Championship was finally over. Elation! Ecstasy!
But, then, a few days after that, John kerry was defeated by George W. Bush.
This year, the Red Sox may once again get to the World Series. The World Series will be followed quickly by Election Day. I would love to see the Red Sox win and then Obama win.
But, make no mistake about it, if I can only have one this year, let it be Obama!
