+ It is partly sunny today with a high in the 70s predicted and thunderstorms. Yesterday was quite pleasant. A thunderstorm with plenty of rain hit at about 9 pm.
+ The Red Sox are now 5-1 against National League teams after taking 2 out of 3 in Cincinnati this weekend. The Cubs contine to have the best record in baseball. The Cubs last won a World Series in 1908. They last won a NL pennant in 1945. So ... Go, Cubbies!
+ In a post at the Delphi Christianity - General forum, "Jack" said that "Christians murdered, slaughtered, 2 million people alone in France in the 1400's in an attempt to stifle alternative beliefs." I responded:
I am very aware of this tragic event and many others. I don't blame the religion. I blame control freaks in both the church and government who think that they must stifle dissent even sometimes killing millions. Very sad. Very tragic. Evil raises its ugly head unfortunately in every human being and every human institution. We must resist the power of evil with all our heart, soul, strenghth and mind. We must learn as much as we can from the mistakes of the past. THURSDAY MAY 29 MUSINGS
+ Cool weather has dominated in May along the Erie Canal. Memorial Day was an exception. It got up to 82 degrees F. Since then, a Canadian High brought frost for a couple of nights to the higher elevations and chilly breezes evertywhere. Today it is still windy but warming up with bright sunshine.
+ I put up posters this afternoon publicizing the Joyful Noise Cafe which is coming up on June 7 at First Presbyterian Church Utica.
+ A Message for the Trek from God > The planet needs to know that I am God and I am in charge, Be still and listen to me. I am right here, right now. I am deep within you and within every part of creation. I am intimately involved in everything that happens in the universe. Trust me. Don't worry. Pain is temporary. Joy is permanent. Enjoy this wonderful moment. Embrace it. Trust it. Breathe deeply. Breathe fully. What's happening? More than you can ever comprehend in this lifetime. That's OK. You don't need to know everything! Trust the process. It is good. Even when it doesn't appear to be good. Simply pay attention and you will know everything you need to know in each and every moment from now on. I am your guide. Show a little willingness and, voila, miracles happen!
+ The Red Sox no longer have the best record in Major League Baseball as they just lost 5 out of 6 in Oakland and Seattle. Manny Ramirez is on the verge of career homerun number 500. Too bad it didn't come last night as the Sox were defeated 1-0.

THURSDAY MAY 22 MUSINGS
+ The Red Sox are sure a streak team. They won 10 out of 11. Soon after that, then lost 4 straight. Now they have won 6 straight including Tuesday night's no-hitter by Jon Lester. They currently hold the best record of all teams in the majors. Way to go, world champions!

- Practicing Spirituality with Sufis (I'm keeping up. It is day 18 out of 40)
- Lectio Divina: An Online Retreat and Practice Group (just begun and I'm behind by 2 days; 40 day retreat)
Also, I have been doing a lot of posting at the CROSSCURRENTS FORUM at Delphi where I defend Christianity in the midst of some highly intelligent and educated agnostics and atheists. Anybody want to help me out here?!
So, temporarily, blogging is a lower priority than ususal.

THURSDAY MAY 8 MUSINGS
+ It's chilly again with some raindrops and some wind.
+ Car is back at the garage for more repairs but, fortunately, only a little additional cost. I wait for the car to be ready here at Panera Bread where the coffee is good and the internet is free.
+ The Red Sox improved their battering average last night but so did the Tigers. The Tigers won 10-9 ending the Sox 5 game winning streak. All is well. The Yankees lost too.
+ At The Abundancetrek Blog, I posted on THE NAKBA AND ISRAEL'S 60th ANNIVERSARY. I hesitate to deal with this highly charged issue but I must speak out. I do not believe Israel can claim the moral high ground until they get out of the West Bank and East Jerusalem. They are doing the opposite. They are building more and more settlements in the occupied territory. This is simply wrong. The USA must demand that Israel stop defying international law. Why is our media so silent?

WEDNESDAY MAY 7 MUSINGS
+ It's warming up today.
+ We decided to get our Lumina repaired and hopefully we can get another year or 2 out of it.
+ Soon after losing five in a row, the Red Sox have now won 5 in a row. Veteran knuckleball pitcher Tim Wakefield completely baffled the Tigers last night in a 5-0 win. The heavy hitters, Ortiz and Ramirez, hit back to back homers in the seventh. Ortiz has left his worst slump ever far behind. The first place Sox are now 22-13. Team batting average is .287.
