The environmental catastrophe facing our planet is due largely to the failure of the plutocracy to get a grip on their greed. We the people need to demand that huge changes are made or we are all going to suffer in the environmental catastrophe now looming larger than most people want to acknowledge.
The rich will suffer too but it will take longer for them to feel the pain. We must find a way to stop the greed which is destroying the planet. Taxing the wealthy heavily and using the money as wisely as possible on such things as mass transit and far more efficient automobiles and wind and solar and other alternative energies is imperative. Why don't the rich realize that they would benefit as well if their children and grandchildren grow up on a planet which is sustainable? I do not see nearly enough effort by those with power and privilege to do what's necessary to achieve a sustainable future.
