We
need to keep remembering that Advent clearly keeps us aware of our need to
protest the ways of the world when they are in conflict with the ways of
heaven. The gap is huge. The birth of
Jesus of Nazareth made a difference but we must have a new birth of compassion,
peace, justice and sustainable abundance.
