COFFEE BREAK 154

+ Unorthodoxology offers "the triviality of loving neighbors" by David Henson. He deals with how distant most of us are from the real pain and suffering of so much of humanity.

+ Spirituality and Practice offers an excerpt from Seek God Everywhere: Reflections on the Spiritual Exercises of St.Ignatius by Anthony De Mello dealing with the need for both a contemplative life and an active life.

+ As I think about Coffee Break Number 154, I am remembering when there were 154 games in a baseball season followed by 4 to 7 games in the World Series. It was all over by the middle of October.  There were 8 teams in each league.  The Giants were in Manhattan.  The Dodgers were in Brooklyn.  The Yankees were in the Bronx.  All 3 teams, particularly the Yankees and Dodgers, often made it to the World Series.
