COFFEE BREAK 71

+ Shuck and Jive offers "Bishop Spong's Manifesto." You guessed it. John likes it! He begins: "This is cathartic. It is Bishop John Shelby Spong's Manifesto. Some of my favorite sentences: 'I will no longer engage the biblical ignorance that emanates from so many right-wing Christians about how the Bible condemns homosexuality, as if that point of view still has any credibility.' He is just warming up... 'I will no longer talk to those who believe that the unity of the church can or should be achieved by rejecting the presence of, or at least at the expense of, gay and lesbian people.' Yes. Yes. Yes. 'I will no longer seek to slow down the witness to inclusiveness by pretending that there is some middle ground between prejudice and oppression. There isn't. Justice postponed is justice denied. That can be a resting place no longer for anyone.' Thank you! There is no middle ground any more than there is 3/5 of a person."
+ I'm working on my next Amazing Journey post for The Abundancetrek Blog. Here goes:
This journey requires plenty of companionship. Sometimes I like to think I have found a way forward spiritually and politically all by myself! What nonsense! I need you! I need your wisdom, your visions, your prophecies, your dreams, your knowledge, your know-how. I intend to find and work with more and more dreamers and creators of the amazing new thing God is doing now. You come to mind! Please let me know if you can join me in this movement for a new way forward spiritually and politically.
OK. I will ponder this thought, pray about it, let it develop and maybe, just maybe, offer a new AJ post soon at The Abundancetrek Blog.
+ After 2 days of glorious sunshine here in the Mohawk Valley, today it has been cloudy all day. Yesterday we had a heavy frost for the second or third time this fall.
+ My team may be out of it but Baseball is wonderful anyway. Yesterday's games were classic October displays of baseball at its nail biting best. A two-out walk off double brought the Phillies an important victory. They trailed by one run and then won by one run. The difference in the series is huge. They go up 3-1 over the Dodgers. It would have been 2-2 if they had lost.
+ I like my screen saver. I have it set to go on in 2 minutes if I stop pounding away on the keyboard. Then I see a random display of photos from recent trips like to England recently. You can see many of my photos at http://www.pbase.com/abundancetrek
