WHITEHOUSE RACE 2008 (1)
Barack Obama got a big convention bounce. Then, John McCain got a big convention bounce. Now they are back to the dead heat it has been for months. The first debate is scheduled for Friday, September 26. The big surprise has been the VP candidate for the GOP, Sarah Palin, a virtually unknown Governor of Alaska, a job she has held for less than 2 years. She is a big hit with the politically-oriented Christian Conservatives who made a big difference in the 2004 election. McCain has not been popular with that part of the GOP base. So, the culture wars have been re-ignited.
