I sympathize with the desire to find fault in Sarah Palin. But I believe the kind of criticism directed at her in recent days actually will cause more people to vote for her and not against her. Progressives need to put their energy on being FOR Obama and Biden and convincing Americans that it is in their best interest to vote FOR Obama and Biden rather than against McCain and Palin. Progressives need to stop focusing on Palin and get back to the issues Obama & Biden are fighting for.
Palin as VP candidate has re-ignited the Culture Wars. Nobody is winning that war. We all lose. Obama has gotten to where he is because he moved us beyond the culture wars. We must not let Karl Rove suck us back in to that destructive war.

I agree with you on this issue. Someone needs to elevate the discourse in America away from lipstick to the war, the economy, the environment, &c. What america needs is leadership toward the future and not trying to make people with the status quo. the future is coming whether we like it or not. The election is all about whether we are going to approach the future or try to return to the past. Some want authority to protect us in the present, but we need leadership to direct us to the future.
